The Finland Scholarships encompass the first year’s tuition fee alongside a relocation allowance of at least €20,000. All universities across Finland provide different combinations of the Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarship and the Tuition Fee with Monthly Stipend Scholarship.
There is no cost associated with the application process; applying is consistently free of charge. This scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities outside EU/EEA.
Finland Government Scholarships 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Program Requirements: Need school-leaving certificates eligible for higher education in your home country. Upper secondary school certificates are required, even if you have completed some higher education studies.
- Master’s Level Admissions: Require a university-level bachelor’s degree or equivalent. For UAS (University of Applied Sciences) master’s programs, at least two years of work experience in the field after completing the bachelor’s degree is necessary.
- Varied Requirements: Specific requirements may differ among degree programs, applicants might need to complete an entrance exam, SAT test, or interview.

How to Apply for Finland Government Scholarships 2024
The applications process and deadlines is different depending on the degree program. Begin by searching for your desired study programs within the Studyinfo.fi database. Once you’ve selected your programs, easily check the application period and other admission-related details provided by the respective universities.
Joint Application: The Studyinfo.fi joint application for programs commencing in autumn (September) occurs annually in January 3–17 Jan in 2024. All degree programs available through the joint application share the same application period. The joint application allows you to apply to up to six degree programs using a single application.
January Study Start Option: Some degree programs may offer a January start option. For these programs, the joint application period typically opens in September (4–14 Sept in 2023).
Note that the September joint application has a limited selection of programs compared to the January joint application.
