My 12 years of practice and 6 years of teaching have been influenced by everything from Ashtanga and Iyengar, biomechanics and somatic movement, to yin yoga and mindfulness practices.
I am an E-RYT certified with Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level with over 1,800 hours of experience. My teaching blends respect for yoga tradition with a scientific understanding of anatomy and biomechanics to keep students safe, and I focus on empowering students on how to make the practice work with their body.
My mission as a teacher is to help people connect with their body and create space to let the teachings of yoga unfold from there. My teaching approach weaves together foundations, breath work, mindfulness, and play. In my classes, you will journey through a carefully crafted sequence designed to create warmth, space, awareness and balance in the body, mind, and heart.
On social media, I share my practice journey and teaching on Instagram and Facebook via my #overachieversguidetoyoga posts which clearly break down foundational poses and common pitfalls so anyone can navigate them in their practice and #bendstronger. I am a natural teacher grateful for the opportunity to guide others, eager to share what I have learned, always seeking to learn more as a student myself on this lifelong journey.
When I am not teaching yoga, I am spending time with my husband and clever 4-year-old son in San Diego, and enjoy my down-time in nature, hiking, reading, creating, and traveling.
